Welcome to CAMRL - The Campaign for Real Lager.
The Campaign for Real Lager (CAMRL) is an independent, voluntary, consumer organisation whose main aim is to promote and ensure the healthy future of lager beer, and maintain Britain's greatly renowned lager culture.
CAMRL campaigns to make the big lager brands bigger and keep the great lager pubs great, we seek to quell the worrying rise of the newly fashionable "Real Ale" culture that is leading to the damaging promotion of warm, flat, insipid 'beers' ahead of cold, clean, crisp lagers.
CAMRL campaigns on your behalf.
CAMRL promotes top-quality, often lesser-known lagers such as Fosters, Fosters Ice and Carling, as well as acting as the consumer's champion when it comes to the UK lager industry. We aim to:
1. Protect and improve the rights of the lager drinker.
2. Promote quality, choice and great value for lager drinkers.
3. Support the pub as a focus of lager drinking, and help eliminate the trendy "real ales" that seem to have started appearing in our nation's favourite lager-holes, leading to less tap-space at the bar for the bewildering array of our favourite cold, crisp lagers.
4. Campaign for greater appreciation of modern lagers as part of our national heritage and culture
5. Seek consolidation of small british pubs and brewers, leading to greater value for the lager drinker, and promote the larger breweries and massive national pub chains that make Britain great.
6. Educate old-fashioned brewers on the modern advances in chemical-based cask brewing, and how this can transform a warm, sour tasting ale into a fresh, full bodied, clean, crisp, cold, great value lager.
